About the Role

Vanta Systems provides compliance automation software for enterprise clients. As our DevOps Engineer you'll own the infrastructure that keeps our platform reliable, secure, and fast. This is a critical role at a company where uptime and security aren't optional — our clients depend on us for their own compliance posture.

What You'll Do

You'll manage and improve our AWS infrastructure using Terraform, build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, and work closely with our backend engineers to improve the developer experience. You'll also lead incident response and help us maintain our SOC 2 Type II certification.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and evolve cloud infrastructure on AWS using Terraform

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions

• Monitor system health and lead incident response

• Implement and audit security controls for SOC 2 compliance

• Improve internal developer tooling and deployment workflows

Requirements

• 4+ years of DevOps or infrastructure engineering experience

• Strong hands-on experience with AWS (ECS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch)

• Proficiency with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code practices

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Solid understanding of security best practices

Nice to Have

• Experience with SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance environments

• Familiarity with observability tooling like Datadog or Grafana

• Scripting skills in Python or Bash
